Technically, the River Ranch is probably closer to Alpine Meadows than Tahoe City, but it's a popular spot for people who want to take the 3 or 4 mile drive or raft trip to sit by the river and enjoy lunch in the sun. The River Ranch is at the base of the Alpine Meadows entrance on 89, serving cocktails and delicious entrees including Elk Loin and Venison in a warm, comfortable room. During summer, they often have live entertainment outside on their deck.

Moody's Bistro
Located in the historic Truckee Hotel, Moody's is a cool place, alive with nightly jazz and a happening atmosphere. The bar is designed in the fashion of a Speakeasy from the early days, with big comfortable booths to enjoy lunch in. The recently remodeled Crystal Bay Club Casino is a happening spot. Located across from the Biltmore on the north shore California/Nevada border, the Crystal Bay frequently has good concerts and live music. The club has 2 stages, one smaller lounge stage, and one in a larger room for bigger acts.
