Squaw Valley High Camp
A trip to High Camp via the cable car is a good opportunity for skiers and non-skiers alike to get a view of the ski resort and Lake Tahoe while getting a bite to eat. Restaurants at high camp include Alexander's Cafe (serving lunch and dinner),
Terrace Cafe, Terrace Bar, Bar North
Poolside Cafe (have a cocktail and soak up the sun by the pools), and Wildflour too (serving baked goods). After eating, enjoy ice skating or a hike in the mountains. The High Camp building is showing signs of age, but its location makes it a fun destination. Our pick in spring: a margarita by the pool on a sunny day. Our pick in summer: a bagel and a Peet's coffee from Wildflour Too and a hike to the top of Emigrant peak, 8,700.
